Meet Our New SE & PE's!

John O'Brien, P.E., S.E.-  "I'm excited to add S.E. to my name.

As a Technical Manager at PES, I look forward to helping our employees, our clients and the engineering community progress in our understanding of how buildings work and relate that to more efficient structural designs.  Outside of work, I am an avid backpacker and photographer.  Now that I've passed the S.E. I hope to spend more time traveling and a little less time studying!"

Nathan Heinlein, P.E.-  "Born and raised in Marietta, I am a loyal local who is now licensed to design structures in GA...as I have been doing since I found wood blocks at a young age.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Poly in 2000 and have worked for PES for all 10 years since then.  I married my college sweetheart and am expecting my first child in October of this year.  We have two dogs and currently live in Norcross.  I have snorkeled in Hawaii, hiked in Alaska, back-packed through Europe, hang-glided over Tennessee and hot-air ballooned over California...so you could say I like to take exotic vacations when I am not working hard to provide you the highest quality structural design documents that I can."

Rob Phillips, P.E.-  "I am excited about passing the P.E. exam and becoming a part of the professional community.  It was a rewarding experience to study and prepare for the exam.  I am currently getting more involved in blast and progressive collapse design for Department of Defense projects.  I am looking forward to becoming more versed in this aspect of our field.  Outside of work my favorite thing to do is travel.  I really enjoy planning trips and exploring new places."

Jennifer Yoon, P.E.-  "I started working at PES after graduating from the University of Illinois about 4 1/2 years ago.  I live in Atlanta with my husband, Hojun, who is an architect at a local firm.  We have kept ourselves busy with work, church and renovations to our 50-year old house.  Our biggest piece of news recently is that we will be first-time parents in August 2010.  Passing the P.E. exam this past Spring was an even bigger accomplishment because I was about 23 weeks pregnant when I sat for it.  When I signed up for the exam, I didn't know I was pregnant and it became very important to me to try to pass it before we started a family - and I'm so glad I did!"
